The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Starring Kristin Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner

Directed by Chris Weitz

Release Date:November 20, 2009

The Twilight Saga returns, and it's not that "epic": at best this is a 2 1/2 hour movie about a girl reeling over her first break-up. First, I think that for the majority of the movie, Bella is a very selfish, spoiled character who uses Jacob as a rebound after Edward leaves her when he fears for Bella's safety. As in the previous film, the dialogue for me is very heavy-handed and corny so sometimes it will drive the plot forward, or they'll be a character who complains about zombie movies having analogues (I forget the character's name but it's Bella's blonde friend). On the good aspects of the film, I enjoyed the character of Jacob being more involved with the saga of Bella Swan and his evolution into a werewolf. The dialogue is corny at times, the action could have been better, but it's still a good film that suffers from 'second film" syndrome in a series: it only serves a purpose as a bridge to the next film.
