Amadeus

Directed by: Milos Forman

Starring: F. Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce

Release Date: Sep 06, 1984

Sheer brillance, a tour-de-force on two of music's most talented composers. So rarely do you see a film where everything on screen is at full capacity for awesome: the music, the sound editing, the performances, the costuming, every single thing about this movie is spectacular. One of F.Murray Abraham's most acclaimed performances and one of my personal favorites is his portrayal of Antonio Salieri, the court composer who went from admiring Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, to being spiteful, to hating God for pouring all his talent and "voice" into Mozart, to actively plotting how to kill the man. The development into sheer madness is nothing short of astonishing. If you're a classical music fan, you owe it to yourself to see his beautiful of Peter Shaffer's play. Just full on brilliant.
