A stunning psychological film made by one of our greatest directors starring a fantastic cast of actors, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Kingsley, Max Von Sydow, and Mark Ruffalo. The mood to the film is dark, forboding, and mysterious, which perfectly captures your immediate thoughts on Shutter Island (the location). Of particular intest to me was the dream sequences, which were captured in a haunting dream-like experience which was astonishing to behold and terrifying to view. Do your self a favor: DO NOT LET ANYONE SPOIL THIS MOVIE FOR YOU. You will do your self a disservice by allowing a friend or associate to spoil the twist at the ending. My thoughts on the ending? It definitely raised many questions upon my leaving the theater, which is always a positive experience with me. A great Scorsese film, a haunting thriller, and a mysterious film that will be on your mind for days.
