"I will find you, and I will kill you". Depite a slow start, once Liam Neeson gets started Taken breaks off into rapid marathon of punches, bullets, and treachery. Director Pierre Morel evokes other fast paced action movies like La Femme Nikkita or The Bourne trilogy with Bryan Mills tracking across Paris to find his estranged daughter who was kidnapped by an Albanian prostitution ring. Liam Neeson delivers a fantastic performance, carrying the emotional weight of a father trying to save his daughter with the quick thinking of a former spy. The only minor flaws are a slow first act and the characterization of Mills' exwife, who goes from snobby, know it all to an emotional push-over in less than ten minutes. Still, Taken is an impressive action thriller.
