These are my picks for the 2011 Academy Awards:

Best Picture

The Social Network

There were a lot of great ones this year, but I'm going with the movie that surpassed my expectations.

Best Actor

Colin Furth, The King's Speech

Runner- up would be James Franco for his intense and energetic performance in 127 Hours.

Best Actress

Natalie Portman, Black Swan

Chilling performance. No one did better than her this year

Best Supporting Actor

Christian Bale, The Fighter

Bale stole that movie, and gave one of his best performances.

Best Supporting Actress

Melissa Leo, The Fighter

I really liked Halie Steinfeld, but Leo was amazing.

Best Animated Film

Toy Story 3

Best Art Direction

Inception

Best Cinemateography

Black Swan

Best Directing

Darren Aronofsky, Black Swan

.....why wasn't Christopher Nolan nominated for Inception? Regardless, my second choice (and the only one on the ballot), would have to be for Aronofsky's work on Black Swan

Best Editing

The Social Network

Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay)

Aaron Sorkin, The Social Network

Best Writing (Original Screenplay)
