Very surreal, visually stunning fantasy from the twisted minds of Tim Burton and his frequent collaborator, Johnny Depp. I thoroughly enjoyed Depp's rendition of the Mad Hatter, crazy teeth, Scottish accent, odd behavior and all. Not the standard "Alice in Wonderland", but maybe that's why I enjoyed it so much: the film takes all previous knowledge about Alice, the White and Red Queens, even Wonderland itself, and gives it a strange little spin for a new audience.
